| Class 9 ISC is a handicap class and encompasses a wide range of boats from dedicated grand prix boats to cruiser racers. You can race it, you can cruise it. It comes in both fixed keel and lifting keel versions. The Sonata is very seaworthy and fast for its size. Sadly, it’s no longer built, but Hunter Boats made over 400 Sonatas during a period of about 20 years and you'll find Sonatas all around the UK. Many sailing clubs have adopted the Sonata as a one-design class and most of the major regattas have a Sonata start. Many Sonata's race at Skandia Cowes Week in the Sonata One Design Class but Pizzicato elected to race in the handicap class to demonstrate that the boat is extremely versatile and can win under handicap as well as being an excellent one design. |
