| IRC is an international rating system that uses (mainly) owner supplied measurements and that rates cruisers and cruiser racers of all types remarkably accurately. With over 3,000 boats using the system it is extremely popular and while some details of the formulae used are known, the internal workings of the rule remain secret to prevent exploitation. With well over 400 IRC entries we split the IRC fleet into ten classes with the biggest boats in Class 0 and the smallest in class 9. This year we will not make the actual breaks until immediately prior to the event in order to attempt to get the best racing for each class. | ||
