The distinctively elegant Daring is unique to Cowes; an open, day-racing keelboat with classic lines, typically sailed by a crew of three. The great majority of the thirty-one Darings are owned by syndicates of three or four people who share the cost and the fun of racing one of these exceptional yachts. They use the latest technology but the design, equipment and maintenance of the yachts is strictly controlled which keeps down all the costs and ensures that all yachts are equally capable of winning the races. The main focus of the Daring fleet is competitive Solent-based fleet racing from April to October but the Daring Association also enjoys an active international team-racing programme that finds members regularly challenging like-minded classes all over the world.
