Tony Lovell, an International Sailing Federation qualified International Race Officer, is one of Europe’s most experienced and respected race officials. He has officiated at dozens of championships for many different classes including two Mumm 30 World Championships; European Championships for the 6m, Mumm 30, Etchells and 1720 classes; the Tour Voile 2000 and numerous national, regional and local events in the UK including many for the Laser SB3 Class. He is also a long standing member of the Skandia Cowes Week Race Committee.
In 2006 Tony founded Total Race Control, a company dedicated to providing a one stop race management solution for grand prix sailing events. Total Race Control’s services cover all aspects of race management including provision of boats, staff and equipment, management of formal documentation, administration of results and organisation of qualified protest committee or international jury members.
Tony is also a director of Convoi Exceptionnel, a transport company which specialises in moving abnormal loads around the globe including racing and cruising yachts. In those rare moments when he gets some leisure time he is a keen sailing photographer and enjoys cruising with friends aboard his 40’ ketch “Bonnie of Dartmouth”.
